27 Aug 2015

S P Setia Berhad stole the show last night at the South East Asia Property Awards (Malaysia) 2015 when it won the Best Developer Award amidst four other awards.

S P Setia Acting President and Chief Executive Officer Datuk C J Khor who went on stage to receive the award said that winning the Best Developer Award (Malaysia) re-enforces the Setia brand among the top South East Asia developers and strengthens our presence ever more in Malaysia and this region. He added that the win also comes as a good acknowledgement for the entire Setia team who has worked hard to get the brand to where it is today.

For the central region, S P Setia took home the Best Green Development Award for its KL Eco City project, Best Luxury Condo Development (Central Malaysia) and Best Residential Architectural Design for Vogue Suite 1 at KL Eco City, KL Eco City.

The RM6.5 billion stunning KL Eco City project won the accolade for its bold architecture and green features. The mixed-use development sits on 25 acres of prime land, anchored by prime commercial offices, high-end retail mall, business-lifestyle hotel, world-class serviced apartments and luxury residential towers.

A key feature of the development is its connectivity as well as a covered pedestrian bridge that will link the development to The Gardens and Mid Valley City Shopping Mall. To ensure smooth traffic, S P Setia is building 6 new ramps and bridges linking KL Eco City‟s internal two tier road systems to the highways.

Also a winning project, Setia Eco Cascadia in Johor, which is an ecologically planned township, bagged the Best Mid-Range Housing Development (South Malaysia) for the Foresta Precinct. Foresta was the first out of 4 precincts to be launched. The precinct boasts beautiful landscapes on a land parcel of 28.2 acres of which 9.3 acre is dedicated to greenery and landscape design. Residents of Setia Eco Cascadia enjoy a lifestyle close to nature surrounded by calming flora and fauna.

Apart from that, S P Setia was also shortlisted for the Best Landscape Architectural Design and Best Residential Interior Design for its Setia Sky Residences project. The development is a luxury service residence with terraced paddy fields of Bali inspired landscape designed by Brazilian landscape artist and architect, Roberto Burle Marx. The ultra-chic development was inspired by the idea of curtains blowing in the wind.

The glitzy ceremony which consists of 26 awards and categories was organized by Ensign Media and saw other prominent Malaysian players in the industry present. Winners from this event will be competing in the South East Asia chapter which will take place in Singapore in October 2015.

The South East Asia Awards started in Thailand in 2005, and have since expanded to reward developments, consultants, architects and designers in China, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam.
