S P Setia celebrates Hari Raya with its communities

Community celebrations are the norm at S P Setia. The reason is, our family are our neighbours and our neighbours, family. Just like a Kampung. Staying true to its philosophy of LiveLearnWorkPlay, S P Setia celebrated its Hari Raya celebration with its communities across Penang, Selangor and Johor in a traditional yet vibrant Raya Open Houses over the weekend.
It hosted over 5,000 guests comprising its communities, business partners, media, families and the general public to a memorable and fun night of traditional games, celebrity performance, stage games, a rare and spectacular 3D projection mapping presentation followed by stunning fireworks display aside to delectable traditional Raya dishes at Setia City Park, Setia Alam, today. P.Ramlee's movie enthusiasts were treated to one of his popular movie – Seniman Bujang Lapok, which was screened in the evening while guests lounge on the lawn, under the star, enjoying quality time with friends and families.
"It is indeed a norm for us at S P Setia to celebrate festivals such as Hari Raya with our communities and this year, we decided to host one Open House event each at our three key regions in Malaysia - Johor, Penang and Klang Valley so that our communities can interact with each other in their respective state. It makes the festivities merrier when everyone comes together," said Dato' Khor Chap Jen, Acting President and CEO of S P Setia Berhad.

Setia's Open House in the northern region of Penang took place simultaneously at Setia Welcome Centre SPICE in Bayan Baru. Visitors flooded the venue well before 6pm, in anticipation of the performances, games, activities and scrumptious Raya spread planned for the evening of celebration. Guests were treated to some of the best-loved cultural performances and live band performances by local artistes. Families and children indulged in the Gamelan workshop, Wayang Kulit puppet crafts, Batik bags colouring, candy cloud and pop-corn making, soap carving and a host of other activities.
In the Southern region of Johor, Setia Eco Cascadia welcomed visitors on Saturday morning with a remarkable band performance followed by other event highlights such as Dondang Sayang shows and Teh Tarik performances. Guests participated in the variety of activities such as bakar lemang, ketupat weaving, Batik printing, Kuih Bahulu making, Popia making and Dodol wrapping. An estimated of 2,000 guests turned up at the Raya Open House at Setia Eco Cascadia.
"Looking at the crowd here today, it is very heart-warming to see how those who were there with us from the start are also a big part of our communities today, growing from one generation to the next and if there were any disagreement between anyone, today we kosong-kosong with everyone," Dato' Khor added.
Themed Rumah Kita, Kampung Kita, S P Setia prided itself in building townships where communities converges during festive seasons such as Chinese New Year and Hari Raya. With sprawling greenery and carefully landscaped lawns on top of its signature public parks, an S P Setia township has over the years, grown to become a Kampung, where families and friends gather for celebrations, creating endless fond memories.
